What is up with this weather?

What is it with the weather that makes me feel down. It's crazy.

Maybe it's that time of the month excuse the overshare or maybe it's just the fact that I didn't do too well this month. In the end it just sucks. But then again. After the rain is always a rainbow.

And sometimes if you're lucky two come out! :) At the end of the day...you just have to keep your head up high and think of all the wonderful things you can do after the rain. :) I'm trying to pick myself up. I. CAN. DO. THIS.

this is me after eating the rainbow!

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Amazing Jonathan and Charlotte on Britain's Got Talent.

In life you must always remember that things may not always be what they seem at first. I've heard countless times people tell me that they think I'm a quiet, soft spoken person when they first meet me...and then they get to know me and that's when they realize that they've got it all wrong. I am the least soft spoken person you will ever meet.

But this post isn't about me. It's about this amazing video I saw. About 2 friends making their mark. Awesmazing. I don't want to spoil anything, but let me just say. I got goosebumps and I might have cried a little. Someday I hope to be able to witness something this epic in person.

Here's to hoping they both make it to the end! :D What a jaw dropping experience.

The Hunger Games...

Watched the Hunger Games last night with the Nuffies. Another perk of the job, awesome movie screenings care of our clients.

It might still be too early to post spoilers since the movie just came out. But let me get this out, if you're like me and you practically memorized all the Hunger Games books. Don't expect too much. :) The movie was long and yet scenes felt too short. My imagination always just works better. :)

Fitness and Fitnesse

Getting fit and healthy has been on my resolutions lists for ages. I think it's high time I took it seriously.

So here's the deal. Since I'm a highly impressionable child I'm taking the Nestle Fitnesse 14 day Challenge. Yes, I now honestly believe I watch too much TV!

Since a box of the stuff lasts about 3 days, 30g per serving and the box indicates it's good for 6 servings of 30g, I will probably try it for 3 days. hahaha...but if I survive the 3 days without being snarky, who knows there might just be some long term commitment coming up.

What surprised me is that it apparently comes in Fruit and Honey Almond. I just have the pleasure of eating the thing plain. I must say, I wasn't too pleased. But tonight it another meal. Let's see how it goes.

Omnomnom, Because Sharing is Caring!

How often do you find yourself eating?

I must admit, if you put the minutes in a day that I spend munching on something it would probably equal the amount of time I sleep. Yup, I have breakfast at home before I leave work. Then I have my second breakfast when I get to the office which usually ends at 11. Then I take a break before having lunch at noon. And before I even realize what's happening I'm eating again. I have no idea how it happens, food just magically finds it's way to my hand and straight into my mouth.

Not only that, food seems to be my past time. I eat when I'm bored. I eat when I'm working. I eat when I'm watching TV. I eat when I'm in the mall. I just eat all the time and I'm in constant pursuit of the best things to eat. It's a miracle I haven't gained a million pounds. An even bigger miracle I'm not diabetic nor do I have high cholesterol. Well, not yet anyway. Thank you Lord for fast metabolism.

The best birthday cake EVER! Chocolate Truffle cake from Manila Pen

But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who does this. I have friends who're with me eating all those meals everyday! I also know some people who stress eat, not pointing any fingers. I like to pretend I stress eat too but sadly I just like eating. And don't we all have a foodie friend who just knows where the best of the best can be bought and tasted?

Since I've already established that I love food and everything that has to do with it wouldn't it be the best thing ever if you found a place that not only offered good food but also helped you help someone out? Awesometastic. You get to say, I'm eating to help someone out! And that is what I like to call a win-win situation!!!

So imagine how excited I was to find out about Best Food Forward. I see what you did there. Nice play of words, funny funny, now say Best Food Forward 10 times really really fast! But seriously, this is an awesome idea.

Best Food Forward actually had it's first run last year and since it was so much fun they're doing it again! That's right we all get the chance to eat ourselves silly and help someone in the process. Fun right? Right! This year they're doing it on March 24 and 25 at the NBC Tent. Perfect timing for all the students who would have just finished their exams. What better way to celebrate than heading on over to a place where you can stuff your face silly with yummy yummy treats!

So I guess I'll see you there! Nope, I know I look a like a student but I'm not! But when you say stuff your face silly with yummy yummy treats, I'm in! That and I get to to do for a cause. Win-Win!

Ingat! The JLC Experience!

Hypochondriasis according to Wikipedia refers to excessive preoccupation or worry about having a serious illness.

I know all about it, I am after all a self-confessed hypochondriac. Awesome for me, my boyfriend is a doctor. We're a match! :) I joke about it a lot but he doesn't seem to think it's too funny. :P

Seriously though, I'm not that bad but I do get overly dramatic most of the time. :P That's the reason why I never leave the house without my medicine. I always have a little kit handy inside my bag filled with my essentials like celecoxib for my cramps, anti-histamine for my allergies and Biogesic for my headaches. :) Yup. I never leave the house unprepared and whenever I run out, I panic.

As I was sharing in my previous post, this week had turned out to be a really long week. There were so many things that I had to finish that there were days when I literally felt like I walked the entire day. Lucky for me there were nice little breaks in between. Like this awesome opportunity to join my Nuffie friends at a lunch for John Lloyd Cruz. I'm not much of a fan but when the opportunity for a free lunch that came with celebrity sightings came up I was there faster than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. What?!? What!?! Sorry I've been watching too much Cougar Town.

The lunch served two purposes. To get me a ride closer to my meeting and to get me free food. I kid, I kid. It was actually a congratulatory lunch for John Lloyd thrown by his Biogesic family for the success of Unofficially Yours. Which my friends keep saying I should watch but sadly haven't been able to. YET!

And they officially announced that they we're signing him up for another year! Yup, more of those "Ingat!" ads for girls to go gaga over! It was actually nice to have found out that he's been their endorser for 6 years now. 6 years is a long time to be in a relationship with someone, especially in showbiz. More so to trust someone to carry and endorse your name. Biogesic must really like John Lloyd.

But then again...what's not to like about this face...

Ooooh John Lloyd we have a common! I myself am a Biogesic believer, especially when I feel like I'm dying of a fever. It's worked for me so far!

The lunch went well. The food at Annabel's wasn't anything fantastic but JLC answered the questions thrown at him like a good sport. He also spent more of the afternoon gamely posing for photos, which I must say must have been hard considering he had to be smiling the ENTIRE time. I sadly still don't have photos from that day. I know, I really should invest in an awesome camera soon. But since there's always room for more photos on this blog. Here's another one of JLC!

What a week that was!

Thank God it's Friday!

Feels like the week went by in a slow motion blur. I know that sounds contradicting but let me tell you. The week flew by and boy did it tire me out.

How you start your week probably dictates how the rest of the week will go. We started this week with a party!!! Nuffnang is 5! Happy Birthday Nuffnang!!!

With the Nuffies! :)
Since Nuffnang is an Asia-Pacific company we all celebrated at the same time. Yup, simultaneous parties for everyone. It was a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun! Snaps for Thei who pulled this one off with pizzaz. Pizzaz talaga!

But after the party I had to get serious. It was the end of the month and there was some catching up to do on my end. Loads of client calls, meetings and follow ups had to be made. It all paid off in the end. I always have to remember to thank God for having my back all the time. :D

My week wasn't all about work though. I still managed to squeeze in a run, my first 3k, and dinner/dessert with friends in Draft, first time I left Draft not drunk! I was still able to see my good friend Ange who's pregnant with her first baby. Oh and I managed to squeeze in a press conference with John Lloyd too! Long but awesome week. I guess there's lots to catch up on and I'll tell you more about it soon.

But for now, I'm taking a breather. Talk to you later!
