2014 Bring it On!

This year is the my most favoritest year EVER! That's cause this year I married the love of my life and although it's been a crazy year of planning and planning and stress everything was worth it. :D Since some of you weren't there to witness the wedding let me share with you one of my favoritest parts of Miggy's vows. :D
  • My favorite quote about love goes...“Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.” from the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin. I must confess I've never watched the movie but I've loved that quote since I read it the first time! hehe so you must imagine my surprise and excitement when my husband started his vows with that exact quote. :D It was perfect. He was perfect. I am still all gooey inside when I think about it.

Weee...how lovely it is to be loved. My heart is a happy little heart. Anyway, enough with the cheese...for now. I've been blessed with a lot this year. A lot of changes have been happening and as my aunt texted me about a month ago, 2 big things happened for me this year. A change in surname and a change in career. Although there is always uncertainty when you venture out on your own there is also that excitement for what the world has in store for you. So even if recently I've been scared sh*tless because of the possibility that this might not work out I'm even more excited because I know God has so much more blessings to shower upon us.

On a more personal note, no we're not pregnant so please stop asking..LOL I'm having the time of my life being a wife. :D Ok, so I don't do all the stuff normal wives might do. I'm still lucky enough that I don't have to manage a household or do chores. But I still make sure I take care of the things my husband, eeep, still not used to that term, might need. Oh, and I love spoiling him. Making him happy makes me happy. So the PS4 might not have been the best idea, everyone keeps telling me I'll never hear from him again, I'm still happy about it cause he's like a little boy all excited. Oh, and I get to do whatever I want since he's always on that thing anyway. Win - win! :D

2014 is going to be a year of many firsts. I've given us a budget and the idea is to stick to it, although I'm already thinking it might not be enough. What a challenge! I've also decided that in 2014 I'm not going to go crazy shopping...all the time. It's time to invest wisely. I'm so freaked out because I think I'm starting to sound like a grown up. Waaaaah! It's so surreal. So here's to a better year for everyone.

Oh, and before I get too lazy to write another blogpost let me try to write down my resolutions for the year...bear with me here.

  1. Learn to live within a budget. A non-negotiable budget. LOL. There are just some things we can learn to live without. I won't die if I don't get to buy all the crap I love buying.
  2. This year I must learn to keep with the yoga program. Last year was crazy, loosing weight because of the stress was easy now they're back and they want to take over the world.
  3. Travel more with the husband. Although this may be extremely difficult because he has an extremely inflexible schedule I think short trips can be arranged. :D
  4. Learn to cook...or at least get back in the kitchen. It won't kill anyone until it actually does. Hehe...
  5. Spend time with family. Because in the end they are the people who matter.
So here's to an awesome 2014 for all of us! :D

Happy Easter! Cheers to new beginnings!!!

Happy Easter everyone! :D

I haven't blogged in awhile and I feel like I have about a thousand ideas. Things I want to write about but nothing really seems to be worth it enough to write about until now. Hahaha...because as I sit here the bu is sleeping soundly. He got off work around noon today, he started yesterday morning. No rest for the weary. Why did I decide to write today? Well, because there's really nothing more interesting for me to do and well, it's been quite awhile.

So, what's new with me? A lot of things. Something major and a lot of little things in between. I've been struggling with having to balance my time, energy and attention. It's been crazy. But in the end it's been a lot of fun and well, I have friends who have my back every step of the way. So that makes up for all the stress. Now, if only I was loosing the extra inches I've put on with all the stress this would be perfect.

Moving on...decided to write today because it's Easter and a wonderful time to talk about new beginnings. :D That after all, is what Easter is all about. I have so many things to be thankful for. So many blessings and I feel like this year is a BIG year. I just hope I can juggle all these commitments.

I am all excited about the new beginnings although I am a bit sad about the end of the old. I guess part of growing up is realizing that there is soooo much to do and so many things to accomplish that at some point you have to move on to bigger, better things. Let's see, I need to set a mtg with God and discuss these things. I think I might go crazy. hahaha...

I guess to sum it all up. I'm crazy scared about the prospect of new things because I am a creature of habit and my little circle of comfort is being disturbed. A lot. But then again...to be better you have to learn to take risks. :D So here's to new beginnings!

What a week

It's my second week of work. I'm supposed to be working but I'm being really lethargic and taking things slow...

This week has been hectic. From one proposal to another. New clients are coming from all sides. As my boss said, the people we meet in this job...awesome. I've met all kinds of people, one of the things I love about this job.

Being the New Girl

One of the major things I was worried about before I started working was that I would be known as the "new girl" and that freaked me out. A lot.

This is my frist time to work in a company that had this many people working together. I haven't really been able to count how many we are...hahaha, people might think that I'm weird if they realize I'm counting them. But we're significantly more compared to my old company. :) So, you now get the picture of why I'm scared of being the "new girl". There's so many of them and I'm the only one, it's that feeling you get when you enter a class as a transfer student and you know they all have friends already and you have to figure out where you belong. It's a big deal.

My temporary desk is situated in one corner, right beside the creatives guys. The accounts team however is on the other side of the room, away from my corner. They're the team I'm supposed to work with. Add to that the fact that my corner is actually sort of like a mini hallway where you have to walk a few steps to see the rest of the room. So...I'm virtually alone. I don't really know if this is a good thing, or a bad thing, but at least it gives me the chance to acclimate, observe and learn how they work without being right in the middle of it.

The con however is that I don't get to interact with my officemates as much meaning this whole "new girl" phase might actually take longer than expected. The only time I get to talk to them is during lunch break and I must say, they make an effort to be nice to me. :) They're really friendly and you don't really feel shy to say stuff like I would normally be. I know, I know...nothing like the real me. But that's how I am when I'm new at some place. I keep quiet and observe til I feel comfortable enough to be myself. It takes a lot of time. Some things in my life I'm still not comfortable with despite the fact that it's been almost a century. But that's a different story altogether.

What I'm most thankful for is the fact that I know God is with me through this whole process. I got a day off in the middle of the week. Something most people wouldn't get. It was a break from something that was new, a relapse into the comfortable zone. And I tell you, it was something that I needed very much. :) It helped a lot, because at least I'm not edgy all the time. I'm on my guard all the time when I'm at the office. A survival thing I guess, when you're still not familiar with your surroundings. :) So a midweek break was very welcome indeed.

Now most of my friends have been asking me where I'm working. I've actually not been saying anything out of respect for my old boss. I wanted her to get comfortable with the idea first before anyone knew about the details. So I apologize for all the secrecy. Don't get me wrong, I love my new company and everything about it, I just want to be sure that it wouldn't hurt anyone once word got out. :)

I'll keep you hanging for a bit longer. Just a bit until I feel that it's ok. Soon enough. Who knows, we might all be surprised.

Welcoming the new in my life...

I'm in the middle of my first work week and here I am posting on my blog instead of working. The perks of being new on the job I think is that for the first few days you just get to acclimate yourself with the surroundings. Get yourself used to the people and all that...

I'm never an early person. Ok, maybe never is stretching it. I'm rarely an early person but I'm not late either. I like being on time, most of the time. But for three days in a row I've been early for work. I get so stressed out in the morning that I get to work so early. Famished most of the time although I had breakfast today. hahaha...

Anyway, must pace myself and get into the whole new office groove. Will blog more in detail over the weekend. Just wanted you to know I was still alive and totally loving it! :)

Welcoming change

A month and two weeks ago I officially resigned from the company I spent the past three years of my life in. It was bittersweet, it was so hard to let go off all the connections I made but it was also a much needed break and a welcome change! :) An opportunity for new beginnings. :)

I have been enjoying my time off. Being able to wake up in the middle of the day, nap when I want to. Go to visit the bu at his clinic, plan trips, watch movies in the middle of the day. Just practically do what I want, when I want. It was a welcome break indeed. But, after a month of not working, I must admit I was getting impatient and antsy. I am not used to having nothing to do.

I have been sending out my resumes a lot. More than I did when I first graduated from college. I also uploaded my resume in those sites where possible employers can go through them and I was lucky enough that someone called me...and everything started from there. I honestly felt that I screwed up the interview. It was a panel interview and they did not at all seem impressed by the things that I had to say. But in the long run, I'm am elated at how everything turned out.

Can't say much more now. But I'm excited for this new chapter in my life to begin. :)

Keeping me grounded...

So I guess I was overly ecstatic yesterday that I forgot that I'm still not sure about what the future holds for me. I had my second interview today and although it wasn't bad I must admit, the one I had yesterday was way better.

I felt bad, I honestly did. I was on my A game, I kept telling myself that. But I guess I really wasn't. The things that I thought were important for me when I was still working didn't seem as important to them. I won't go into detail since it really is their opinion. :)

Today was just a reminder that I have to be prepared for anything. I really felt bad, after the interview I had to call my friend and tell her all about it. It was sad really, but I guess we just have to wait and see. Talking to my brother he kept telling me that it was fine. I would get there, I just needed to keep trying and that this is all just part of the experience. :) So I will take it with a grain of salt and move on.

Sending out more resumes and a lot of positivity. :)

Getting my feet wet! :)

As a person who's been constantly working for the past 3 years, I haven't been in an interview for that long. I must say...it was fun.

I have been applying to everything I can apply to! :) It's the panicky me that's making it all happen. I feel like I need to do something. So I'm trying everything. Yesterday, I got my first call for an interview. After 2 weeks of sending out resumes. Not bad. I research on the company and it looks ok. I just have to find out more. I talk to the bu and we both agree it will be good for me. :) I need to get out there. Keep trying out interviews...and well, practice. hahaha...It's a good thing today's practice turned out great. The woman who interviewed me said she liked the fact that I was soooo happy and positive. She says she was going to endorse me their boss and see if they can offer me a position. Woot woot. Considering this is my first interview! yay for me! :)

Hope to get more interview invites soon. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks God. :)

Health...

In an effort to be healthier and more active I finally convinced my brother to take me running! :) Ok, I admit I was sooo bad at it I couldn't even run a whole lap. Hahaha...but I walked a lot. But let's be fair, the last time I actually was active was in 4th year high school give or take a few other times in college, but that was it. I have become a sloth. :P So I wrote a list of things I wanted to accomplish this year. One thing on that list was that I wanted to be more active. So there you go, I am starting.

I know I totally sucked at running, yes...apparently you can suck at running. hahaha...bad form, bad breathing, painful leg. But in the end, the heart is in the right place. I will be active! :) I will.

This is what I'm going to look like hopefully after all this. My goal to become like before, or better. :)

It's also my grandma's birthday so we had the traditional Chami for breakfast today and Fifo left for Sing right after. So while we were killing time we took her to the park. It was fun. But tiring. I miss Fia already. But I will see her soon. In Sing hopefully. :)

So today was my first day of being active. It was fun! :) More positive vibes. Oh, and the bu has to be more active too! :P hahaha...he needs to lose weight! :P I love you bu.

Vacationing it...

Today marks the start of my new life. And I spent the day doing nothing. Well fine, I made a trip to the bank. For me. But still. I did nothing. And it was glorious. :) It feels so good not having to do anything. Not having to wake up too early. Ok, so I do still wake up early cause of Miggy. But then I get to go back to sleep. :) What a wonderful feeling.

Now, don't get me wrong. I am slowly panicking. This is real. This is it. The pressure is on. To figure out what it is that makes me happy. :) In the mean time. I'm keeping my head up above the water and taking it one day at a time! :)

This one's for you God! Thank you!
